Week 16 December 12-16

The last day of the Kiwanis Food and Toy Drive is Wednesday, Please bring in your donation if possible. The class bringing in the most canned/boxed goods gets two nights off homework!

Friday, December 16 is our last day before Winter Break. Dress up in your favorite winter attire (hats, scarves, mittens, antlers, bells, Santa hats, etc.) We also will have a winter party rotation that involves fun activities and cookies. Be sure not to miss next Friday!

Reading : This week is all about paying attention to story details, and examining poetry. Ask your student to tell you about The Stranger, the story we are enjoying this week. Students are realizing that paying attention to the details can enhance one’s enjoyment of the tale.

Math: We are becoming accomplished mathematicians. The students know that they must be adept in multi-digit addition and subtraction, double digit multiplication, and long division. Each student will be taking a winter practice packet home to keep his/her skills sharp. Students are also encouraged to play www.sumdog.com with parent permission. There will be a competition online. Check it out.
