Reading – We are reading Island of the Blue Dolphins. This fictional tale is based on an American Indian who lived alone on San Nicolas Island during Gold Rush times. A wonderful experience to extend the book at home is to take a trip to Catalina Island. It is close by the island in the book and has a similar geography.

Social Studies: We will be having our Gold Rush Auction on Friday, May 27. Bring in items to sell for “gold nuggets” so we can have a great auction.

P.E. Testing is the morning of Friday, May 27. Students will do the mile run, chin-ups or flexed arm hang, shuttle run, v-sit and curl-ups. Please dress appropriately.
