Week 30 April 16-20

Reading Selection: We will be reviewing the comprehension strategies and skills we learned in Theme 5 Heroes. Students will be taking the theme skill test starting on Tuesday.

Genre: Biography

Purposes

• Strategy focuses: evaluate, monitor, question
• Comprehension skills: fact and opinion, cause and effect, making judgements

Math: We are beginning Topic 13 Solving Equations. 

Word Work:. This week we are reviewing words with the vowel-consonant-vowel (VCV) pattern, and dropping the final  adding i before adding an ending.

New spelling words will be going home on April 20.

Grammar:  We are reviewing subject, object, and possessive pronouns.

Writing: We are writing multiple paragraph personal narratives and stories incorporating dialogue, the 5 senses, similes and personification.
