Week 12, November 7-11

Friday is Veterans' Day. School will be closed.

We have begun the story Boss of the Plains. This is a biography of John Stetson, the famous hat maker. The comprehension skill lesson is making generalizations. Students will also be working on summary skills.

Math - We are in Topic 5 which is all about variables and expressions. Students also have access to sumdog.com to earn "coins". I will be able to monitor the students progress in different math skills. This is a great site.

Thank you to two very generous families for donating $100 dollars apiece for our classroom. We will be spending it very wisely and frugally. Sumdog is one of the things possible because of these donations.

Spelling words came home last Friday, but the test will not be until Monday, Nov. 14. Please study.
